NUHOC owns gear for many outdoor activities, which is available to all members of the club. If you would like to borrow gear from our gear locker, you must first be a member. Then, talk to our Gear Folks about renting out gear! They each hold gear office hours in the gear locker (350 Curry Student Center), during which they’re available for gear rentals, gear returns, information about the club, and belay lessons.

Also check out the #gear-exchange channel in Slack, where members can buy and sell their used gear.

Some of the gear we have includes:

  • Backpacks
  • Sleeping bags
  • Sleeping pads
  • Sleeping bag liners
  • Tents
  • Hiking poles
  • Climbing shoes
  • Climbing harnesses
  • Climbing ropes
  • Snowshoes
  • Microspikes
  • Kayaks
  • Paddles
  • Personal Floatation Devices (PFDs)
  • Crash pads

If you need something else but don’t know if we have it, ask a gear person!

Check out the Sizing Document or information regarding sizes for harnesses, climbing shoes, snowshoes and microspikes.

If you’re not sure about what you need for a trip, check out our list of what to bring!
