Our first meeting of the semester will be today, Wednesday the 13th at 7:30 PM, in 108 Snell Engineering. Hello NUHOC,

Eleven months ago we lost our beloved Brown Memorial Lodge to fire. There has never been any doubt that we would rebuild, and today we are happy to announce a design competition for the next Loj! You must be a current Northeastern student to submit a design, but collaboration between designers and alumni is highly encouraged. The deadline for submissions is January 20, 2016.

The original Lodge Design, an Introduction to the Lodge, and Lodge History documents can be found on the NUHOC website. They are definitely worth the read to get a sense of the meaning of the Loj to NUHOCers over the past 44 years.

This Wednesday will be the last NUHOC meeting ever of 2015! “EVER?!” YES EVER! SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?! You’re going to come to this final meeting, that’s what, and support your pals who are up for election! Then you’re going to stop feeling sad, because we’ll be back at it soon enough in Spring 2016. So come for one last hurrah in 200 Richards at 7:30 PM, where we’ll be voting to determine the most worthy E-Board candidates for spring semester. “But I just don’t wanna say goodbye yet!” you say? That’s dandy too, because if you have extra guest swipes that you don’t want to go to waste, your retiring fall E-Board members would be happy to help you use them by being swiped into a dining hall by you!! We goon dining hall! And after filling ourselves with scrumptious food, we pooon dining hall? Don’t miss elections, and help us make a Final Fall Feast a poossibility!

After a long two weeks, we are gathering on Wednesday at 7:30 PM in 200 Richards. This is one meeting you won’t want to miss, and I’m even more fo realz than usual this time, because it’s FLANNEL FORMAL! Everyone wear your best flannel shirts, and we’ll celebrate the culminating semester potluck style. Bring delicious foods and snacks to show everyone how kitchen (or grocery store) savvy you are! Seriously, when you make good foods, you make good friends. But wait, there’s more… The end of the semester approaches, so we’ll be having nominations for spring semester E-Board members! If you’re looking to get more involved with NUHOC, maybe this is where you step up. Nominate your friends or nominate yourselves or just witness people nominating people. In flannel! Eating food!

We will, however, be given a rare treat during our usual meeting–a presentation from one of our dedicated NUHOC members! That’s right, come toMorrow’s talk about his trail work in New Mexico last summer. You’ll also want to come hear about the increasingly-winter-related trips happening!
